Friends

It’s been a while I didn’t post anything. there was no “interesting” stories to tell

Yesterday I was diving with shady at Pierre and friends and because of the condition of the water (very bad visibility up but very clear waters on the bottom) I decide to bring the 90 cm Picasso too

I reach a spot where I usually find groupers so I put my 120 on the float and I decide to use the shorter gun. Shady disagreed but I didn’t listen (sorry shady)

30 sec after hitting the bottom I see a nice kingfish swimming away from my upper right and another one following it, I start fining towards them, I do my special trick and one of them turns, I shoot right in the spinal cord. The fish starts to shake but I can’t see the tip of the shaft from the other side so I open my reel and start fining towards it.

Before I reach the fish the shaft falls and the fish disappears in the blue

I go up quickly to find that shady was in the direction where the wounded fish was going so I ask him to go down directly maybe we’re lucky enough to see it again

But nothing…

I curse at the gun and I tell shady that I lost a 5 kg kingfish just because the gun was too short

I start relaxing and hoping that the fish doesn’t die because the shot was perfect

Next dive still hoping to find one of those kings… nothing. so I start my ascent and I spot VERY FAR a white shape lying on the floor I start fining towards it and this shape turned out to be my fish : )

As soon as I reach the surface I point out the direction to shady and I ask him to go down since my adrenaline was pumping in an incredible way and the dive was deep

Shady goes down but doesn’t see the fish

I go down again and I spot it for the second time so I swim towards it but at 12 meters depth just to mark its place and I go up tell shady about it and he goes down and picks it up

It has been such a LONG time I didn’t see any kingfish in my waters. It’s good that we finally got it

5kg cleaned, VERY tasty

Dive safe

nice... when a fish is yours, you will have it whatever the circumstances are and sometimes you miss the easiest shoots but it would had been nice if you posted the picture of the fish :)
